QB Jared Goff – Postgame Press Conference – December 6, 2020

(On his response to the adversity he faced last week and on the drive after the special teams turnover)
“I responded exactly how I expected to. I’ve been through a lot of bad things in my football career before and have consistently responded. This was no different. I just had to put my head down and keep working. To answer your other question, they were getting a little momentum. They got the punt return and scored quickly, and we needed to make a play. I think we were playing well all day offensively and Gerald (Everett) got open in the flat, and I just put it on him.”

(On the offensive line and how they helped the running game)
“I thought the O-line had one of their best games today. They really played well. I thought they protected really well today, and the run game was getting anything we wanted with the way they were able to move guys along the line of scrimmage. They did a good job, a really good job.”

(On what will be key to get ready for Thursday Night Football)
“It’s always tough. Thursday nights are turned around quickly. We’ve consistently played well on Thursday nights, I believe, through our time here with the Rams. We’ll have a plan, I’m sure, starting tomorrow and get ready. I saw what the Patriots did to the Chargers, so we’ll have a challenge absolutely.”

(On RB Cam Akers and his growth this season)
“He’s just continued to take great leaps. I think in practice you really see it. Early on in the year, we’ve had a lot of faith in everyone, but Darrell (Henderson Jr.) and Malcolm (Brown) were just a step ahead a little bit in understanding what we’re trying to do on each play. At this point, Cam is right there with them, and he’s done a really good job. He’s explosive with the football. He can catch. He can run. He can do anything we want him to do, and he had a great day.”

(On his quarterback sneak for a touchdown)
“I knew that was a big drive just to shift the momentum back. Anytime I hear that coming in the headset from the one-(yard line), I get a little extra adrenaline going. I was excited about it, and me and (Austin) Blythe were down there on the bottom of the pile yelling at each other about, it which was fun and then gave him the ball to do the spike. It was a good drive there I think is why there was excitement.”

(On if he likes doing quarterback sneaks and the previous week of practice)
“I like them when they are on the one-(yard line). I don’t know how I feel about them in the middle of the field, unless it’s to end the game like that one. Those ones are fine. Those ones are also fun. The week of practice was great. It was like I always approach a week of practice. I think that’s the main thing I’m getting at here is I don’t change anything based on any previous performances. I just keep my head down and keep working and getting better. My practice habits remain the same and usually take me where I want to go.”
